Winston-Salem mayor wants support to delay reappraisals

Mayor Allen Joines will ask the Winston-Salem City Council to endorse legislation in the General Assembly that would allow counties to freeze property appraisals at 2008 levels until 2016, according to a news release from his office.The state requires counties to reassess property values at least every eight years, but Forsyth County has done so every four year and is in the process of a reappraisal now.
