Short-term rental rules expanded

Austin's short-term rental rules were expanded Thursday to allow partial-home rentals, requiring registration for apartment and condominium rentals and creating an online database and map of every short-term rental in the city.The changes will come back to Austin City Council for a vote within 70 days, the Austin American-Statesman reports.Council approved lower fees for residents wanting to put their homes on the short-term rental market in October 2012.
