Birmingham home prices fall again in January

Weighed down by homes with distressed mortgages, home prices continued to fall in metro Birmingham in January, according to a new report.Metro home prices fell 2.6 percent in January compared to January 2012, and 2.9 percent compared to December, real estate researcher CoreLogic reported today.But not counting distressed sales, prices rose 0.9 percent in January from the same month of last year, and 0.5 percent from December, the report said.After being one of only three states to report price…
