Alabama foreclosures fall in 2012

Foreclosure-related sales dropped off across Alabama in 2012, but not enough for the state to avoid having one of the largest shares of distressed sales in the U.S.In the fourth quarter, Alabama's distressed sales dropped 16.9 percent to 1,103 – 17 percent of all sales in the quarter – from the same period of 2011, real estate researcher RealtyTrac reported today.That pushed the total number of foreclosure sales down 22.8 percent to 4,710 in 2012 compared to 2011, the report said.Including…
